Software Engineer
I build backend systems, automation pipelines & developer tools, most recently at refer.me.
A cross-platform gesture-drawing app for artists, maintained for five years across 20 releases and evolving with feedback from an active user base.
Refactored the session runtime into focused modules (timers, shortcuts, zoom/pan, image loading), built PyInstaller pipelines for Windows & macOS, and expanded image decoding to AVIF/JXL/WEBP/GIF with graceful fallback decoders.
A real-time text & pattern counter for VS Code: live gutter badges, custom regex rules with $TEXT placeholders, peek and multi-cursor selection of every match.
Engineered for performance and safety: chunked scanning keeps the UI fluid on 10MB+ files, a 500ms regex timeout guards against catastrophic backtracking, and badges render only within the viewport for zero scroll-lag.
Owned the job-board platform end-to-end on a small team (10k+ monthly applications): replaced a manually updated board with automated daily ingestion via Python/Playwright scraping pipelines, driving a 25% engagement lift.
Operated two Dockerized Heroku services in production. Diagnosed and resolved a resource-limit incident, kept scrapers reliable against evolving anti-automation defenses, and built a cron-driven listing verifier tuned so users never applied to delisted jobs. Designed SQLAlchemy schemas, owned Sentry triage, and built an FAQ bot that cut repetitive inquiries in a 10k+ member community by 20%.
Also automated a TikTok content pipeline supporting 10M+ views on a self-managed Oracle Cloud Linux instance: webhook-triggered backups with Google Drive OAuth and headless-browser analytics collection.
Shipped a water-system alert feature (JavaScript frontend, Python backend) and resolved cross-platform serial-port issues across Linux, macOS, and Windows with expanded error handling.
Open to software engineering roles. Whether you have one in mind or just want to talk shop, my inbox is open.
